Godrej Enterprises Group Drives Transformation in Healthcare Sector with Innovative and Ergonomic Solutions

Bengaluru, January 06, 2025: Interio, one of India’s leading furniture brands of Godrej Enterprises Group, is expecting to grow its healthcare segment at 15 % over the next 3 years, owing to favourable market conditions backed by the demand for specialized and higher quality healthcare. With significant growth witnessed in Tier 2 & Tier 3 locations within the private healthcare segment and doubled sales volumes to private hospitals, the segment has been growing steadily at 10%.

Sameer Joshi, Sr. Vice President and Head of B2B Business, Interio said, "The Indian healthcare sector is experiencing rapid growth, driven by expanded coverage, enhanced services, and increased investment from both public and private players. Despite the progress, there remains a significant opportunity in creating healing environments that prioritize patient comfort and safety, particularly in critical care areas like ICCUs and ICUs, while addressing the challenges faced by caregivers. At Godrej, we are deeply committed to continuous innovation, striving to elevate the quality of care and experience in healthcare facilities. Our thoughtfully designed solutions are tailored to meet the needs of patients, caregivers, and healthcare organizations, ensuring we contribute meaningfully to every step of the healing journey."

The product portfolio combines functionality and innovation to elevate the quality of healthcare delivery. Godrej’s state of the art manufacturing facility at Khalapur manufactures hospital beds, examination couches, medical lockers and cabinets, patient mobility, etc. as per the customer’s preferences. In addition to this, the plant also manufactures medical accessories that are indispensable to modern Healthcare requirements in India.

Research conducted by Interio has shed light on the pressing challenges faced by caregivers, who are vital stakeholders in the healing process. The study revealed that caregivers, such as nurses, walk an average of 8-10 kilometres during an eight-hour shift due to inadequately designed spaces. It also found that over 90% of nursing staff experience some form of musculoskeletal disorder (MSD), with the most prevalent pain areas being the legs (56%), knees (51%), and upper and lower back (51%). Additionally, 61% of caregivers reported occasional neck pain, while 41% had taken one to three days of leave, and 7% had taken four to six days of leave within two months to manage their pain. This not only highlights the impact on caregiver well-being but also indicates a clear productivity loss for healthcare organizations.

The brand’s latest innovation - Advanced Lateral Tilt bed featuring high-low bed movement, patient head-and-foot board side movement, trendelenburg positions and unique bed lateral tilt movement for challenging patient care scenarios. Their specialized research-backed products specifically designed for nephrology departments, maternity wards, and emergency units further demonstrate their commitment to specialized healthcare solutions
