This policy sets out the standards Newzo Pedia follows when reporting, writing and publishing. It applies to everyone who creates content for us, including staff and outside contributors.
1. Accuracy and fact-checking
We verify facts before publication using reliable sources such as official records, direct interviews, documents and reputable news organisations. Where a claim cannot be independently verified, we say so. We avoid speculation presented as fact.
2. Independence
Our editors decide what we cover and how. Advertisers, sponsors and partners have no influence over our editorial content. Writers must disclose any personal or financial interest in a story they cover.
3. Sources
We identify our sources wherever possible so readers can judge their reliability. We use anonymous sources only when the information is important, cannot be obtained another way, and the source's identity is known to our editors.
4. Fairness and right of reply
When a story makes serious allegations about a person or organisation, we make reasonable efforts to contact them and include their response before publication.
5. Sponsored content and press releases
Paid, sponsored and partner content, and press releases supplied by organisations, are clearly labelled so readers can tell them apart from our own journalism. Such content is reviewed for legality and taste but does not represent the views of Newzo Pedia.
6. Contributed stories
Stories submitted by outside writers through our Post Story page are reviewed and may be edited for accuracy, clarity, length and style before publication. We may decline any submission. Contributors are responsible for the originality of their work; plagiarised content is removed.
7. Content from other publishers
When we report on news first published elsewhere, we credit the original source and link to it. We do not republish other publishers' work in full without permission.
8. Images and multimedia
We do not alter photographs in ways that mislead. Illustrative or representative images are used where appropriate, and image sources are credited where possible.
9. Corrections
We correct errors promptly and transparently. See our Corrections Policy.
